Dr Jennifer Marohasy

Jennifer has a Bachelor of Science and a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Queensland, and is recently published in some of the best science and law journals including Advances in Atmospheric ResearchHuman and Ecological Risk Assessment and Public Law Review.

Jennifer founded the Noosa-based Climate Lab in August 2015 as a space dedicated to the development of a new technique for medium-term rainfall forecasting using the latest machine learning technologies.   She is also a Senior Fellow at the Melbourne-based The Institute of Public Affairs.

Dr Marohasy has always been interested in the nexus between applied and theoretical science; and is a fan of philosopher of science and physicist the late Thomas Kuhn. According to Kuhn, it is competition between segments of a scientific community that precipitates change: failed paradigms are never disproven – only ever replaced.
