Senator Malcolm Roberts is an Australian Senator representing Queensland and member of Pauline Hanson’s One Nation party. He was elected at the 2016 election.

Born in Disergarh, India, the Senator was cuaght up in the 2017 Australian parliamentary eligibility crisis with doubts over his citizenship. On 22 September the Court of Disputed Returns reported its findings from investigations the previous day. It found that he sent emails to ‘no one at all’ to clarify his dual citizenship issues before his election as a Senator, and did not renounce his British citizenship until December 2016. The court will consider the legal implications along with several other senators and members of parliament commencing 10 October 2017.
